As a portrait and lifestyle photographer, my passion is photographing people – but that’s not where I got my professional start. After receiving my degree in commercial photography, I envision myself becoming a fashion photographer or working for National Geographic.
Instead, I became a hair and makeup artist working in the catalog and commercial industries – working in some of America’s most beautiful locations. A dream job! I couldn't help feeling, though, that I was missing out on my calling.
I don't just photograph a subject. I photograph how they feel.
And whether I am working with a professional model on a set or with real people in the real world, I approach it the same. Documenting what is real in that moment.
Outside of my professional career, my passion for life and taking photos has guided me on amazing adventures around the world. Where I’ve been able to experience life outside of my comfort zone and document how other people live and make me feel. My highlight? Meeting locals and capturing portraits that will last as memories forever. (And the food!)
All in all, I consider myself a professional in many realms of my life. Whether it be a professional makeup artist, world traveler – even fine artist. But photography has my heart. The connection it allows me to have with people is the difference I can make in this world.
